Camp Y-Owasco

For almost 90 Years, Camp Y-Owasco has provided safe, fun-filled, educational summer adventures on the east shore of beautiful Owasco Lake.  Located just 9 miles south of Auburn , our 35 acres of fields, woods and hill, with 1,000 feet of shoreline, is the perfect setting for a variety of aquatic program, while the unspoiled terrain provides a natural backdrop for out door play and learning. An A-frame lodge, infirmary, and cabins provide shelter while campers experience wonder and fun exploring deep gullies, running on open fields, swimming in crystal-clear water and observing the star-filled sky.

Winter Camp (ages 6-15)

We may not be able to have camp at Camp Y-Owasco in the winter, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have camp!  Winter Camp is a chance to experience many of the things that make camp so great just when you miss camp the most – in the middle of winter!  Winter Camp is a sleepover experience at the Auburn YMCA that includes camp-style activities and games with the same spirit for adventure that we experience every day in the summer!  We will be both inside AND outside, weather permitting, so be prepared to dress in layers!  Three meals are included as a part of the Winter Camp experience.  Winter Camp Brochure

Day Camp (ages 6-15)

Experience adventure every day in a safe, controlled, and natural setting. Campers ages 6-15 participate in several program areas: archery, athletics, dance, drama, arts and crafts, camp crafts and nature, fun times, swimming, canoeing, and kayaking. Campers ages 9 and up can choose from 3 of the above program areas with adventure course, sailing, and water-skiing as additional options. Busing is provided, with various pick-up and drop-off sites.

Resident Camp (ages 8-15 years)

Resident camp is similar to day camp but with even more fun and adventure! One week sessions allow campers to learn and enjoy independence by spending time away from home in a rustic cabin with campers of similar ages. Counselors live in the cabins with the campers and facilitate friendship building and fun! Campers learn new skills by choosing 4 program areas that may include: drama, crafts, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, water-skiing, and more!

Leaders in Training (LIT) (ages 15-16 or going into 10th grade)

In LIT, teens experience leadership, learn outdoor living skills, and improve group skills while experiencing adventure along the way! While this is a fun and engaging program for teen, education and leadership are the primary focus of the LIT program.

Counselor in Training(CIT) (ages 16-17 or going into 11th grade)

Youth who  participate in the CIT program should not only want to improve their leadership skills, they should also want to be a camp counselor!
