Chris Nucerino, CEO Auburn YMCA – WEIU – Email Chris

He has worked for the YMCA for 24 years.  He holds his Masters from Springfield College in Non Profit Organizational Management.  His time in the YMCA has been at two YMCA’s in Western Pennsylvania (Butler PA and Sewickley PA), Syracuse for 11 years as the Branch Executive Director, where he opened the Fayetteville and Manlius Y’s and is now the CEO of the Auburn YMCA – WEIU. His passion for strengthening community through his work with volunteers and staff of the YMCA has continued over his career.  He believes in the mission and values of the YMCA and believes in helping people reach their goals, build friendships and learning at the YMCA.Chris has three boys – Anthony, Jack and JD ages 19, 14 and 12 with his partner Casey who is a school social worker in the Auburn Enlarged School District for the past 11 years.

 

Skaneateles Branch Executive Director Dorothea Hughes
Dorothea was named Branch Director of the Skaneateles YMCA and Community Center in August 2010, moving from the position of associate executive director of the Auburn YMCA-WEIU.  A Y professional for more than 35 years, her first introduction to the Y was as a summer camp counselor at Camp Y-Owasco. That experience proved life-changing. It was there that she first experienced the transformative impact that Y programs can have on individuals. Dorothea holds a bachelors’ degree from RIT.  She provides leadership to carry out the vision and mission of the Y in the Skaneateles community.

Program Director – Sheila Card     
A lifetime resident of Skaneateles, Sheila has shared her passion for all ages and stages with the Skaneateles community for more than 35 years. Sheila works diligently to make each day special for children to adults.  In her role as Program Director, Sheila oversees preschool, child care, summer camp, learn to skate and family programs. She received her Master’s degree in Physical Education and NYS elementary certification from SUNY Cortland. Sheila’s mantra, “If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours; it costs you nothing but is priceless to those you meet.”

Membership & Marketing Director – Stephanie Bales
As a lifelong Skaneateles resident, Stephanie has a unique perspective and dedication to the community that we serve. Her diverse background lends valuable insight to the marketing, public relation and member services initiatives of our Y which she oversees.  Stephanie offers support for critical fundraising efforts which funds the Y financial assistance program which she oversees. Making personal connections with our members and learning about their stories is truly the most satisfying aspect of her position.
Facilities/Rink Director – Matt Major 
A lifetime resident of Skaneateles, Matt has been working with our community providing recreational and leisure services since the early 1980’s. Matt manages the operations for both of our state of the art, year-round ice rinks. He maintains and develops ice programs for membership along with comprehensive ice schedules for all other hockey and skating organizations. In addition to the management of the ice rinks, he is responsible for all facility operation forthe YMCA.  Matt and his wife, Susan, live in Skaneateles with their three children and enjoy the outdoors and Skaneateles Lake. 

Health and Wellness Director – Helen Williams
With over 20 years in the Health and Wellness field as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Helen has extensive Health and Wellness expertise and is excited  to be part of a team  focused on member fitness, health, and quality of living. She received her BS in Athletic Training from Springfield College. She has previously served as a Strength Coach at Syracuse University, Lemoyne College and as a Program Coordinator for Welch Allyn’s corporate fitness centers.

 

Staff Accountant – Tiffanie Clark
As our accountant, Tiffanie has comprehensive accounting knowledge to manage the financial logistics of membership and programming at our Y. Through her 17 years in the financial industry, 5 of those years have been dedicated to the Skaneateles YMCA in her current position. Transitioning from the corporate environment to a not-for–profit, Tiffanie appreciates the community and family oriented atmosphere that the Y offers. She is a strong advocate for how the Y can impact a family or individual because of how the Y has played a role in her life: childcare for her two sons and the opportunities to participate in healthy living.

Aquatics Director – Christine Casazza
Christine’s first employment as a lifeguard at the age of 15 led her to pursue a career in aquatics. She is enthusiastic about giving all children the best opportunity to learn safety around the water and for creating a welcoming atmosphere for adults to interact and socialize. She realizes that everyone comes through the doors with a different story and struggle so she wants this Y’s aquatic center to be a place to foster friendship and skills. She is a certified as a lifeguard, lifeguard instructor and swim instructor from both the Red Cross and YMCA; she received a bachelor’s degree from Salem State with a specialization in Aquatic Management and Rehabilitation.

 Property Manager – Greg Meixner 
Greg is a graduate of trade school and has progressed through trade work to management of trades. While new to the Y, he has many years of experience in property management and works to keep our facility and grounds to standard. Greg has an appreciation and understanding for how things work and enjoys working with his hands to accomplish a task. He is a third generation silver smith and also enjoys his 16 year hobby of playing guitar.
