About The Campaign For Cages

The Campaign For Cages was founded by
August Arroyo Skaneateles Class of 2022

Young baseball and softball players in Skaneateles who want to maintain their batting skills in the winter have to travel long distances and pay high fees to enjoy limited practice time in indoor batting cages. After moving to Skaneateles three years ago, I began to think we could do better for kids who wanted to practice in the off-season but could not do so outside.

The Skaneateles YMCA has agreed to house two indoor batting cages at their facility if we can reach our funding goal.  To achieve our goal of installing two well-equipped retractable indoor batting cages at the Y, we must raise $25,000.  Once complete, the cages will permit non-members and members of the YMCA to hone their skills in the off-season!
