〉 Sports Director: Full Time

General Functions:

Under the direction of the Branch Director, the Sports Director administers adult and youth sports and recreation programs for the Skaneateles YMCA.

Responsibilities/Functions/Duties/Tasks

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develops manages and promotes the programs within the department while meeting the annual budget
  • Hires, Trains and supervises staff to implement the programs within the Sports Department.
  • Collaborates with local schools, human service organizations, youth, and adult recreation programs and other YMCA’s for program service delivery.
  • Collaborates with appropriate committees to establish policies, review programs and schedules within the Sports Department.
  • Maintains effective records and data for evaluating and reporting programs to appropriate committees, supervisors etc.
  • Incorporates character development, sportsmanship, positive reinforcement and high ethical values into the Sports programs.
  • Collaborates with appropriate Y staff to plan and implement special events and activities.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent
  • One to two years related experience preferred

We are looking for Happy, Caring and responsible Camp Counselor Staff for the Best Summer Ever.
You will provide a safe healthy environment where children can play and enjoy their Y Summer
experience.
Hours: Must be Available M-F 7am –6pm
Experience working with young children is a plus.

All employees undergo background checks and will be trained in CPR/ First Aid and other Y trainings
to meet Y professional standards.
