YMCA CERTIFICATIONS
YMCA Lifeguard Certification Course with Waterfront
The course is designed to provide the participants with the knowledge and skills needed to be a lifeguard and professional rescuers. Participants will be certified in CPR Pro for the Professional Rescuer, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen Administration. The course covers safety skills, accident prevention, scanning, guarding techniques, emergency systems, rescue skills, first aid in aquatic environments, spinal injury management, open water dangers, legal responsibilities, pool management, and information on how to get a job as a lifeguard.

Lifeguard Re-Certification
Extend your lifeguard certification for two years. Required certifications must be current
Y-Swim Lesson Instructor
Certification course requires 24 hours of class and pool time. Participants should be able to perform all strokes.
Y-Aquatic Safety Assistant (YASA)
Course for ages 14 and up. Course will prepare you to take the Lifeguard Course.
ASHI TRAININGS...American Safety and Health Institute
Basic First Aid
Four-hour course designed to give the knowledge to provide assistance to someone who is injured or becomes ill suddenly.
Blended Basic First Aid
Learning combines on-line and classroom learning. Must register 2 weeks prior to class date and complete on-line portion before class.
CPR/Professional Rescuer
CPR/Professional Rescurer or Red Cross BLS training is required for all lifeguards, paramedics and health care professionals.
Emergency Oxygen Administration
Two-hour course offers training in delivery of emergency oxygen.
