We also maintain a Skaneateles Y preschool facebook page, a great place to find updates about what we are doing at school!
What if I decide not to attend or need to pull my child out of school before the end of the year?
We are happy to discuss any issues or concerns that have lead you to this decision. Please contact our Program Director Sheila. Email Sheila or call 315.685.2266 ext 101.
Please note: Please be aware that if you would like to withdraw from the program, you have to provide a two week written notice to the Program Director.

Skaneateles Y preschool follows the SCS district holiday/ vacation schedule and snow day closings.
In the event that SCS closes due to weather, Y- preschool also will Close.
In the event of an SCS 1 hour delay – Skaneateles Y preschool will be held as usual.
In the event of an SCS 2 hour delay- Skaneateles Y preschool will be canceled for the day.
We post weather and unplanned closings at the top of the Skaneateles Y preschool Facebook page and on the Skaneateles YMCA & Community Center Facebook page.
What should my child wear to school?
Think comfortable! We like to stay busy and active.
May I bring treats for my child birthday?
If you wish to bring a special treat for your child’s birthday, please make prior arrangement with the teachers.
They will know the number of children in the class and any food allergies that must be considered.
I need someone else to pick my child up from school, is that ok?
All those listed on your child’s “blue card” form can pick up your child. For safety’s sake, Staff may not release children to anyone who is not authorized by the custodial parent. Should you find your self in an emergency situation for pick up, please contact our Program Director Sheila Card at 315.685.2266.
What should I do if my child is sick?
Please do not send a sick child to school. Please notify us if your child becomes ill and will not be attending that day. We ask that parents notify us when their child contracts a communicable disease. Due to risk to the child as well as other children and staff in the program, the child may not be at the center as long as the following conditions exist: Vomiting Diarrhea Yellow discharge from the eyes -Fever greater than 100 degrees. -Severe cold symptoms, with difficulty breathing, wheezing, or other unusual respiratory signs present. -Green mucus from the nose which may indicate an infection, not just a simple cold.
I have an idea for programming!
Wonderful! Some of our best ideas have come from our school friends and families. Send your thoughts to our Program Director. Email Sheila.
